Efficient primaeval technique

Even in the very old days, people knew that if they wanted to be succesfull in hunting or in transport in wintertime, they needed some help in order not to get stuck in the snow. The first types of snowshoes, however, were  quite primitive and heavy. Altough the basics are still the same, modern materials  are light and easy to use and make walking in a prestine winter landscape an enormous pleasure.

If you can walk, you can walk on snowshoes.

Walking on snowshoes is learned easily. Our guide teaches you the basics, and then we set off for a nice and relaxing tour in the Belgian snow while we explain about animal tracks and the landscape.

Prachtige natuur

het gebied waar u het meest sneeuwzeker bent in de Ardennen, is de Hoge Venen, tegen de Duitse grens aan. Door zijn hoge ligging, tussen de 500 en 700 meter, kan hier elke winter wel korter of langer worden geskied. Omdat de grond er tegelijkertijd zeer arm is, is het gebied van nature grotendeels leeg en onbewoond. een prachtig hoogland moeraslandschap, doorsneden met mooie rivierdalen en eeuwenoude dennenbossen.

Materiaal

Ter plaatse huren u het nodige materiaal, als u daar tenminste niet zelf over beschikt. Reken hiervoor op een bedrag van ongeveer €8,00.Vooraf ontvangt u van ons een kledingadvies, met als basis, vooral niet te warm! U krijgt het warm genoeg.
